Social preview checker

Paste a URL to see exactly how it unfurls on X (Twitter), LinkedIn, Facebook, Slack, Discord, iMessage, WhatsApp and Telegram — with each platform's real fallback rules, image requirements, and copy-paste fixes for anything missing.

What gets checked

Each platform resolves tags differently: X reads twitter:* tags and falls back to og:*; Slack and Discord read Open Graph plus their own extras; iMessage and WhatsApp have their own size limits and quirks. The checker fetches your page once, then applies every platform's documented fallback chain and image rules — and shows which tag each platform actually used.

FAQ

Why does my link show no image on X?

Usually one of three things: no twitter:card tag (X then renders a bare summary), an image smaller than the card type's minimum, or an image URL that isn't absolute. The checker flags each of these with the exact tag to paste.

What size should my og:image be?

1200 × 630 works everywhere: it satisfies X's 2:1 large card crop, LinkedIn and Facebook's 1.91:1, and stays under every platform's byte limit at reasonable JPEG quality. Each preview card here shows the platform's own minimums and crop behavior.

The preview looks right here but wrong when I share — why?

Platforms cache aggressively. After fixing your tags, force a re-scrape: X and Facebook refresh when their crawler re-fetches (Facebook's Sharing Debugger has a re-scrape button), Slack and Discord refresh on new messages, LinkedIn caches for about a week unless you use its Post Inspector.
